Frage von Dhub:Hi folks:)
Have a ext. hard drive with 6pin output. My laptop has only a 4 pin input ...
There are 4-6 cable for firewire. From 4 to 6 should not be a problem, but the other way?
Hence my question:
Can I use a 6pin output and narrow on a 4 pin input without data loss - a longer duration would not be a problem-guided?
Thank you in advance
Dhub

Antwort von Duisburger:
If your external hard drive does not get power through FireWire must work smoothly.
Antwort von erbse:
but the other way, good joke
Antwort von Duisburger:
How should one synonymous know that there is no preference whether a 6x4 or 4x6 cable is used.
Duplex times now in both directions.
The difference between 6 pin and 4 pin, only when the additional two 6 pole power lines.
Antwort von Dhub:
Thanks Duisburger
Had I known that the 2 additional lines are power lines I would have hoped the issue can save:)
Now I know that once more
