Hello User,
I am a little desperate, trying for some time with my new system, the older VHS videos with the Canopus AVDC Firewire 110 on without interruptions to the hard drive to get. I did everything defragmented, capture location and Film program at different SATA disks, I'm not over 3.2 MB / s and also created the lost frames without end and when you play ugly Ruckler. Are there any PCI cards with S-VHS / Video / audio inputs, a higher transmission rate? Or has someone a tip? Thank you in advance for helpful hints. Paul Kirschke

At Firewire's definitely is not, the throughput is much higher. Dv-avi is already 3.6 MB / s and the flutscht problems through - if not, what else comes in the way.

What is it with the virus scanners and other services from?
The data rate for DV-AVI normal value and a feast! There is no other transmission rate in the amateur segment for a video transmission via Firewire. The data will be 1:1 in an AVI container (; DV AVI, PAL) written. This is of course an old 1.5 GHz single-core calculator without problems.
A conversion during the reading is not useful and in many cases not possible at all synonymous.
There must be another reason for the problems.
1) Could a cable be broken (; happens öfers times).
2) Could the Firewire port on the PC or the ADVC 100 defective (; rarely)
3) If the VHS tape (; technical) has already suffered greatly, then there could be the cause synonymous. Television is when playing technically not quite correct video clearly tolleranter (; possibly
also the eye), as an AD converter (and the very precise) otherwise would, for example: the copy will not work.
If the playback recorder off for a Time-Base Correction (; tbc)?
Are the dropouts in renewed attempts always s.der same place?
4) There was already synonymous several cases where the Service Pack 3 has caused the problems, so many videographers nopch always use XP SP2.

Hello,
Thank you for your answer. I now have 2 evenings after various criteria investigated my problem and believe the cause to have found. The hardware is perfectly adequate, as you've written, the cause is that the JVC HR-S6900 TBC has no obvious and, therefore, the synchronous pulses in the 22-year-old tape apparently suffered. The ADVC is not synonymous TBC, so the momentary lack of pulses when playing not noticed, but in the transmission. The stream is interrupted and appears as a clear Ruckler. I have a friend with a professional installation, however simple DVD player no Ruckler found.
I shall therefore look for a ADVC 300, because of a TBC and I have a lot of VHS tapes.

You can alternatively look for a synonymous of tbc elctronic design look. However, the no longer new to buy, but still very popular devices on the second hand market.
