Hello,
I have WIN XP with Firewire card.
Whether I am with my Canon XM2 on the firewire card
Movie Maker (video capture device ... no ...)
or Scenalizer (... no video drivers installed ....)
or PPro (Camera is offline ...)
wants to address, it will fail.
I already search the whole day for a solution, and realize now that
Canon that many users have the same problem.
Canon says the problem was not known ...
Microsoft addressed the problem of not recognizing firewire card, it
provides the Service Pack 3, which I did, but it does not help.
What irritates me is the fact the

Up until about 4 weeks, even with Win 2000 + AP 6.5 + Fast Dazzle DV now AV (cut card), everything was 100% ok.
I think not, the FW connector in the XM2 is defective.
Can you have a Firewire jack-in camera as synonymous in the PC to function correctly test, how?

1. What does the Device Manager? Is the FW card there appear correctly (synonymous with no hardware conflicts?)?

Hello, now I have several days here in the forum about my problem gejammert.
Now I have a well-for me only valid solution is found, the camera will suddenly recognized.
Nevertheless, I reported here about once, maybe it helps someone.
The Firewire jack is how long until after I had discovered riddles (because I s.der front of my PC FW cable plug can be>> connecting port!) Part of the PC's
sound card. Due to a completely different problem (!!!) I uninstalled my sound card and reinstalled again. Rein in spite of my stubborn FW connector, I have a little later again DV Camera (Canon XM2) and FW connected socket.
I almost fell from the chair: suddenly I was able to capture, the camera was about 5-6 attempts (every time the PC completely off, quite off Camera, PC Camera + back up or switched on) is always detected new!
I have now 2 separate DV tapes flawlessly on the FP!
Conclusion: When nothing goes, and FW jack on the soundcard, SK + uninstall-reinstall for me has helped!
