Frage von Guglhupf:Have a question and unfortunately, the forum was still no response to this finding. Possessions of a friend heard that through the capturing of capturing to the Firewire with S-Video s.Farbtiefe loses (for s.Space saves).
Now I wanted to know of you: Does it work? When capturing with S-video for the quality of the recording is better than firewire?
Thanks for the answers!

This question is not answered, because they are two completely different technical pathways involved. Because you compare apples with pears practically. S-Video (Y / C) is an analog signal in which luminance and color separately transferred. The digitization takes place only afterwards. Consequently, no general say how much the data is and what Farbsampling used.
And Firewire is one of several ways to transmit digital data. The times have not video data. But if we times of a normal case expect a DV25 via Firewire data stream with 4:2:0-Farbsampling is transferred and then perhaps dagegensetzen that your buddy's Y / C signal (for example, from a Betacam SP Player PVW-Series) with 50 Mbit / s in 4:2:2 eindigitalisiert, then he is right.

Thank you for the quick reply!
Antwort von PowerMac:
Practically, almost all consumer cameras an S-video output, which is already the 4:2:0-Picture, which is synonymous via Firewire output is equal.
Antwort von Markus:
How could they otherwise synonymous. There are only the (color-) compressed digital data from the tape and read the output of SY / C-terminal "analogy".
Antwort von PowerMac:
Uh, right. I just thought s.die output during the shooting on a monitor. After the filming, it can not be otherwise. Therefore, the "already". :)
Antwort von Quadruplex:
This question is not answered (..) The question can be obtained from DV camcorders clearly answered. On the tape is a digital 4:2:0 signal. If the camcorder is playing in an analog signal and converts it again digitized, it can hardly be better.
(..) That your buddy's Y / C signal (for example, from a Betacam SP Player PVW-Series) with 50 Mbit / s in 4:2:2 eindigitalisiert, then he is right. For Y / C is the Chromakanal through with the PAL or NTSC Farbträger possible bandwidth limited. More than 4:1:1 is not about my knowledge. It does nothing when behind the bottleneck Y / C. 4:2:2 recorder with sitting.
Long story short, if it is firewire, firewire take. The next connection is analog YUV (or, if present, RGB).
