Frage von neworpheo:Hello,
I got the last eight days, the SonyHDR-HC3 camera, and my first experience would like to share with you.
In the past I was an "ambitious amateur photographer" and had not shrunk synonymous before major purchases in digital SLR cameras. The shooting had always fascinated me, but I had not seen to invest thousands of dollars into this hobby. Normal DV camcorder had asked me not at all satisfied with their performance. And after my brother's Sony DV camcorder s.meinen new Full HD SonyBravia joined, I knew: Then shoot it better than as a very modest quality for my memories and experiences.
Then came Sonywith the HDR-HC3. This camera has cost the local dealer along with 10 Sony MiniDV cassettes 1170 euros. That's OK I think. Due to various articles, synonymous here with Slashcam I had bought this camera because I promised to place with relatively little money, video films to a new level of development.
My expectations were exceeded, but more on that later.
The delivery of Sonyist modest. No HDMI cable and no iLink / Firewire cable. I would have have to look closely at the board, because when I s.Tag after 30 Edit my wife's birthday was the film struck me: Man, you do not have cable :-(
As a layman, I was video-s.diesem day after purchasing the cable before the next problem: With what program I'm going to work? My computer has SonyVaio V1 Although Adobe Premiere Elements on it, but that can not HDV. And indeed the SonyDVGatePlus HDV proxy can create files, but that was too stupid, I wanted "real" HDV editing ;-) Sonyergab A demand that the Pinnacle Studio Here ashamed - too funny, which for its own Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum? Or do not know of a Sony part, what the other / have?
So Pinnacle had not convinced me, after a trial of Vegas Movie Studio Platinum I had then gained the program itself. A compelling, powerful and very successful program, conveniently at Purchase with a credit card and download!
And now the next surprise: HDV editing
requires in fact a high-end calculator! My SonyV1 had arrived, and is totally overwhelmed. I had cut in Vegas, a brisk 4 minutes film of the birthday together with background music, video overlay effects, video correction in Color and Contrast and all I wanted to spend on HDV tape.
My computer has 2 hours and 40 minutes counted! In the Pentium 4 2.8 GHz processor and has a very fleet 7xxx hard drive ...
What has struck me, and when you can help me: Once I make a video-editing make corrections, ie hue, saturation, contrast, is the final video blurrier and unclean. Why? Is not my whole processing chain fully digital? What to do with the MPEG2 compression to? Since this is somewhat synonymous in the Wikipedia, if you search for HDV ...
That would be really bad ... But now at last the Camera:
- Ingenious HDV image quality at a lot of light
- Convincing range of contrast, very few problems with extreme light / dark distinction
- Very good optics
- Easy to use, ideal for amateur filmmakers
So I'm in the big and the whole very pleased, in Comparison to the HC1, which I tried out before the purchase is to me the following notice:
- Minimal softer images than the HC1
- Slightly lower horizontal resolution than the HC1
- Much better low-light capabilities than the HC1
The quality of the HC3 is remarkable given the size and the optics of the camera. The camera is a very good purchase for all discerning video enthusiasts. The differences of HC1 in the pure image quality is low, and someone like myself, only with the shooting starts, and the many manual functions of the HC1 does not need to make no fault

Yes, for the HDV editing it already requires a considerable performance. Because the Vegas you mentioned - it is version 7 at the door, which is synonymous for HDV bring innovation. If you want to edit HDV, will that be of interest.
I would think for the HDV editing the Conroe 6600 processor, which shows in initial tests for Vegas 6d synonymous already a considerable improvement.
Details - when rendering as well as in the preview of Vegas 6d - were reported here:

Everyone should remember, however:
- Post requires a high-end calculator with memory full.
- Play better on an HD-ready TV with HDMI
- Finished films must be re-written to tape - Sure you need a calculator with a lot of performance, it must be processed after all material is highly compressed
- Not just HD-Ready, but a panel with 1920x1080 pixel Resolutionsollte take it ...
- Ready-to videos need not be stored on the tape (useful even), they may be synonymous to a hard drive or stored on a data DVD burn (up to 22/44 minutes), and of them there (in conjunction with a network cable player! ), such as Pinnacle Show Center 200 with 25Mbit HD component input on the import.
