In a studio environment you can ensure that the HDMI signal - before it comes on the tape - on an HD SDI input of a corresponding cut card and has thus a 4:2:2 signal. Ideal for studio Chromakeying. Intensity One other possibility would be to

Somewhere I have read the one from the 4:2:0 not 4:2:2 or even 4:4:4 rausholen can. Is probably a stupid question but where opts for the output quality of the colors - Is the chip or hardware or dependency, the only differences from the used codec?
Btw - What's the difference between composite and component output?
