Hi,
as a starting material, I have HD material in the format 720p/50 (; 1280x720). It is. Mov files with 8MBit/sek.
If I want to import this material is now in my MC3, Avid makes me, (after the application of the project; 720p/50, raster HDV), the choice of import quality, the DNxHD bgeinnt at 120 and ends at 1:1 p 10b MXF.
According to the help under "Specifications Resolution: HD" are hereby bit depths with s.110MBit/sek available.
Now when I import my files, one has about 1.2 GB in size and duration to 20min, it takes on the smallest import setting times just an hour and created the MXF files are large to the 20GB per file.
Avid also blows my files and therefore should not be needed to consume more time and space, unfortunately, the import settings to give her nothing else.
Must be the case? Did I miss something? Or is it synonymous differently, without this actually unnecessary action of Avid?
I suppose if I could just import as it is present with, it would go faster and synonymous s.end not waste unnecessary space.

Avid unmal works for HD material with the DNX-HD codec.
Depending on the software Proketeinstellung offers you the best codecs synonymous s.and otherwise.
Eg DNxHD 120 Mbit
We usually use DNxHD 185 Mbps
1:1 MXF 10B represents a 10 bit codec - the recommended in cases when one knows in advance that you tinker a lot of effects and needs to queue very elaborate and color correction or compositing.
Nunmal Avid is a professional application, when is presumed that with a 720P Project synonymous appropriate Maschiene is clamped in order to achieve an appropriate quality / too. For example, a HD-Maschiene or even an HDCam-SR.
Then when you arrive with 8Mbit Quicktime movies so synonymous Avid can not help it;)
