It is completely irrelevant whether or not HDCP has been compromised, or. In general, occur illegal copies are not the HDMI output, but even based on the output data. It is by now no secret that the BD-copy protection can be bypassed and so the data can be obtained directly in the best quality compressed. Moreover, often already done in post production of illegal publications. What it helps so s.letzten end of the production chain on the way to display a copy paste?

I think this is a fake. Or a misunderstanding. Would never have been so stupid, such a backdoor installed in HDMI / HDCP. Why?
If so what can even start, then maybe at a specific device or a specific component that can be installed in multiple devices. So an error or a quirk in a concrete implementation, but not in the default, which I think is pretty unlikely.

.... as far as I have understood that no "backdoor", but the Zentralmechanismus.
Previously, only individual with HDCP cracked Device specific keys, which are not generally valid, first and second can be disabled by firmware updates again.
A master key is needed for this, however, produce such as Keys to above in any quantity, but is not even deactivated. So such a fall into the hands of a copying software manufacturer, reflects the time of the film prints as DVD and None what can do about it, quickly kill except HDMI.
That's where I see the current "scandal" not so bad. The DVD was cracked synonymous and still were bulky and movies sold, the market grew. The music industry hats now realized that the customers do not want DRM, vllt strapped now the film industry ...
PS am not an expert in HDCP, so please do not nail down on my statements
