Have a Canon XH A! and want my HDV material in Edius 4.0 book.
Unfortunately Edius can not connect. If I were with DV material to work, there are no problems between the same and Edius Camera!
what can I do?

Than what Windows detects the camera? DV or AVC?
Is the Canon on HDV or DV output?
What Edius project settings?

Where in the camera display to see the flash? if not, in the Play menu Dv connection activate ....
