Frage von xfader:Hello,
I want with my HV-20 Seminars live capture and external hard drive to save it. Now I have an external hard drive with Firewire ports found.
My question:
If the hard drive via firewire s.Laptop hangs and the AGM-20 via firewire s.der hard drive, is it possible with Premiere to capture and broadcast live simultaneously on this external hard drive to store the data?
here the external hard drive

In theory this would work because Firewire devices use the ring topology.
In practice, however, are somewhat camcorder and want to be connected directly s.Computer, which has already demonstrated that it is only one IR port and have not two, as for a ring circuit would be required.
Antwort von Duisburger:
With a USB 2.0 hard drive is such a thing, if your PC is a USB 2.0 port.
If you s.der FireWire hard drive will need to take but one with FireWire and USB 2.0 port.
ADDENDUM:
What you need because s.der FireWire hard drive, eSATA is not a contemporary?
My tip USB 2.0 and eSata2:

exactly. with usb 2.0 is das da saith the profit.

eSATA refers to the plate side of the "Bridge" and is not a user interface. Probably have the FireWire and USB external disk on the plate side to an eSATA synonymous.

In relation to the original problem is as good as any solution that even works on USB 2.0 capture of HDV.
Only one course, a capture program, which makes file management ... (On location or ScopeBox)

Somehow I now stand on the line: HDV comes with a data rate of 19 or 25 Mbit / s, USB 1 but it creates in theory just 12 Mbps - practically, it is even less. Spontaneously, I would have said so, HDV over USB 1 on capture is simply not. But if it works for you but: Where is my mistake?

Antwort von WoWu:
No mistake, Bernd, errors of me. Of course, the USB 2 hot. Thanks for the hint.
Antwort von Jan:
Yes, the HV 20 has unfortunately only USB Full Speed.
Here again, the speeds of Wikipedia:
Tolerance Speed USB 2.0 / USB 1.0/1.1 tolerance
Low-Speed (1.5 Mbit / s) - ± 0.75 kbit / s ± 22.5 kbit / s
Full-speed (12 Mbit / s) - ± 6 kbit / s ± 30 kbit / s
High-Speed (480 Mbit / s) ± 240 kbit / s / -------

Is synonymous for the question no preference, USB is the only HV20 for still. Moving is only via Firewire.
Antwort von Jan:
The synonymous, I just wanted to clarify that it does not work anyway. A user has the top high-speed USB 2.0 hard drive capacity of its attention, but unfortunately not what a USB interface which actually has 20 HV - namely, not 2.0 HS.

Maybe yes, we talk to each other, but I thought that the camcorder via firewire with the notebook is connected to an external s.dem turn hard drive via high-speed USB. It is not necessarily important that throughout the same protocol is used.
However, for the sake of completeness should be noted that there is equipment combinations in which there is then propagated Dropped frames are given. In the discussion of Quadruplex linked I was ever mentioned.

If yes do not synonymous, synonymous yes you need a capture program ... S.Camcorders plate .... wär'ja the prima ...

Incidentally, I wonder in which context, really, why the company with a dock recorders come (EX3, S7, Focus, etc.) when in fact everything to Filemanagement already sits in the camera and they actually take it to the internal disk to play, synonymous to a second partition (on external FW connected) routes could.
So without further because I see no rational reason for why this should not work (except for the additional business with a dock recorders).
What did I miss? Someone get an idea?
