Hello!

So, I have some questions:

I did some time ago the Hauppauge WinTV HVR-900 Hybrid USB Stick purchased for my PC to record programs and movies. In my neighborhood there are only analog reception.
Now the real problem:

When I record a program, for example, of 2 hours, then the MPEG2 file around 2.5 GB in size. After cutting with Cuttermaran the file is still around 2 GB in size.
Can I use the MPEG2 video file somehow to a size of 700MB bring, without too much quality einzubüßen?
Which tool or what codec is recommended?

Depends on what you want afterwards. If your CD player on most runs, you can only the video CD format. Beautiful but what else is ...
If you like it enough, the disc s.PC or only on suitable DVD players to be able to: Divx.here.
