Hej,
We will soon start with a relatively long-term project and wanted to ask you whether your an analytical look at the equipment list can throw.
Because we have the equipment needed for several months, we will buy them. The budget is fairly tight, but we try to make the best of it. Nevertheless, it is a lot of money, which for us is quite scary. :) A few more opinions about this would be very welcome. Not that we have much money to spend for what wrong ...
Most of the time we are in a room (a virtual studio ... without the studio facility * g *) rotate. We will start things in motion: water, fruit, ...
In addition, we will make some outside shots, mainly weather and landscape photography.
Here is what we want to buy:
Camera: Panasonic HVX-200.
We have mainly two reasons for this decision Camera: You can record 60p and thus gives us a slight slow motion. It participates in DVCProHD, we must look not with HDV artifacts torment.
Storage media: A 16GB P2 card.
Actually we wanted to 40GB Firestone gates, but then someone told us that can not DVCProHD. * sigh * The Fire doors, which, it is currently too expensive for us, so apparently only the P2 card as a choice left. Or has anyone a good suggestion?
Tripod: Manfrotto Tripod Still Image.
We need the camera for some shots at 90 degrees, so a photo tripod. Manfrotto is also not so expensive. There's Tripods, which can carry 12kg, we hope that's enough. Furthermore, we can later post a video head retrofit.
35mm Adapter: Brevis
We are still very uncertain, but we are very s.dem interested Brevis 35mm adapter. Apparently he has a better light output than other adapters, and we can not afford lots of light.
Cut Square:
We tend to a Dell PC to buy. Probably a Core 2 Duo with 1.86 GHz and 2GB RAM. As far as we know it requires no DVCProHD killer CPU. Here's a normal hard drive. A RAID is not necessary, right? As a monitor, we have a 24 "LCD with 1920x1200 chosen.
The operating system we thought s.Windows XP. Do I need the Professional version? The Dell website says, surprisingly, that the CPU is not with the Pro version is compatible ... This has us very puzzled. Vista, we have rejected because it only unnecessary stress and makes us no advantages for our project are known.
Editing software: Adobe Creative Suite 3 Production Premium

Here are some touch:
Sound: Forgot down or not important? I recommend the same times a ME66, which fits well with the equipment!
Cut Square: Can CS3 already DVCProHD? With plug-go, as far as I know. That you still remember synonymous!
Light: Yes, a light kit is required. Perhaps a small Arri? ;)...
Camera: Long-term Project and 16ner a P2? As always you need a forced break for copying it. Des is ja blöd synonymous. Must at least a second! Otherwise you quickly passes the fun ...
Purchase: Would I umhören what is in your system for an outfitter nearby. Advantage is service, advice, and you can, if you have a complete equipment buy yourself some goodies rausholen, for example, did you say you take it all, but he needs you to a second P2 or so ...

Often you need less light than others at want to persuade. The HR-F usually run with around 400W. Part 800 and larger synonymous but in most situations will remain at 400W and this makes a good light. With two lamps you are already good here. Three are optimal. The HVX200 incl 2x16GB P2 card is currently at the system houses for 5650 .- ¬ + VAT. offered. (eg www.dieterhallen.de)
Nimm noch ne 300GB external HD to the daily backup.
Only the Fire gates 100, DVCPro HD file store with the latest SW synonymous varispeed and individual frames.
Whether you are flying with the fruit! and the water will be happy with 50fps? Sowas runs nornalerweise not 500fps>. Weather and landscape shots are with the single frame ok.
In the studio, you should build something light: Consider the progr. HD chips have only F10/2000Lux and then NEN 35x ... the adapter is tight.
Maybe you ever look under the benches Leuchstoff light from the action house e. ...! In addition, even a small suitcase with 3x100W light dim enough.
I think CS3 is a good choice for DVC PRO HD/720-50P.
Hab ne-seen demo was interesting. WinXP course and forget the video card is not HD and the HD video monitor. So the editing system you should still invest. Or maybe FCP2 with workaround?
I hope you have a contract for your project! Otherwise it may be envisaged geh'n.

Here is a lot of baloney dovetailed.
Premiere CS3 can not DVCProHD. Point. Only with a 899-euro plug-in. And the HVX200 is not 60p. Point. It may be 50p. The Still-Image Tripod Camera is in the sort of inappropriate. You want to save? Then do not complain when the head umkippt or thing on the ground flying. A breve? Why? The Brevis is only so far interesting, until you say what lenses you want to use on it. The Brevis is synonymous in any case not the best resolution. Still-Image Tripod, no pans, HD camera with not too high resolution - how does that work?
If you want to do close-ups, and telephoto ranges as the thing is isolated from the background. Order, I would MPEC.

Final Cut Pro support of DVCProHD (specifically P2 cards), HDV 24/25p since 5.1.2, and what I see in the significance is not yet quite have checked, with 32-bit float rendering graphics card and / or CPU (this means that

Sound, we need for the Project not. That's why we worry then something else if we so intend. :-)
We hoped with Adobe OnLocation somehow convert the material to be so, so that you can cut in Premiere. However, this is all so only recently been available and we do not yet know much about it.
Ansonten we need to probably buy Raylight. This will cost but I think USD 199 and not 899 euros.
Jürgen, have you seen how the workflow with CS3 and DVC PRO HD has worked?
Two 16er is a really good idea and we have times recorded in our list.
External hard disks for backups, we had several scheduled synonymous - but not ewähnt.

The NTSC version of the HVX200 has 720/60p. perhaps wants Serik NTSC rotate. I think not synonymous, suppose s.er times has incorrectly.
But perhaps you could be all of us here and explain how it without "workflow" (workaround) is possible, currently P2 MXF files into 720/50p in Final Cut Pro to edit natively.
Or have you already on the Apple-related news for IBC?

1. I have a demo of CS3 with plugins for a system supplier in April 2007 and seen on explicit demand should be possible to edit 720/50p. However, there is, in my search today are still some problems with no plug-ins. I was therefore only observed with APP because you're already fit. But Canopus AVID and can.
2. Trying times but the Manfrotto 503 Set of 600 ¬. 90 degrees inclination.
