Is of course only if the card is synonymous a VGA connector or a DVI-I port - the statement in which chip you installed is not enough, as the Manufacturer, depending on the price segment equip their cards differently.

I think that it is probable that the (second) monitor output is not enabled. This should be included in the display settings can make. If the screen is not correctly detected (very likely), one has according to the drivers the opportunity 720p, and 1080i or 1080p firmly follows.
