Forget USB, if you want to transfer videos to your computer. Poor quality and frequent problems.
A firewire card costs around 10 euros and then be installed is synonymous of relatively inexperienced users. Otherwise, safe for little money at PC Dealers. Maybe there's already a synonymous in your PC.
