Infoseite // If Edit button s.Hi8 Camera for digital dubbing still important?

Frage von nicecam:

Hello,

I have transferred some photographs of Hi8 tapes to your PC or dubbing too. The Eindigitalisieren I'm using my Canopus ADVC 300th

For analog cut earlier was always the rule, while dubbing Edit button to ON (; the better outcome because of), otherwise OFF.

This rule was escapes me at the last transmission. And now I wonder: Does that make for capturing digital still make sense? I would of course material rüberretten as much as possible to transfer the other hand, the material already gecapturete not even if it not necessary - only because of the better feeling ;-)

Thanks and greetings

John

Exactly? I would like to know synonymous. As I said, was on average mode and Edit button on his watch "on" a tiny improvement in the result.

(; Extract from the manual for your camcorder SonyHi8 CCD VX1E Page 35):
EDIT:
Normally, switch to OFF.
To minimize the Picture-and cutting off Tonbeeinträchtigungen ON.

(; Extract from the Manual for the SonyHi8-VCR EV-S1000E Page 155):
Pressing the EDIT button is switched to the EDIT mode, which allows for a cut with better quality ...
Remember, however, that synonymous in EDIT mode, one (and if synonymous small) loss of picture and sound quality is inevitable ...

I think I must have the right but try again.

As far as I remember that a break could be set. A kind of short break ... sorry but as much as I had at the time not with cut apart with splicer and 8mm.

Hab mal so nen old but then VCR (; double with desk had cut technique) or irgenwo I have lying around the still. Given under my comb times.

But as I said when I was still too young nen bissel .... Quality is moderate but certainly not affect how this should be synonymous to happen.

Would be a time to express the more senior age ;-)

Well then:)
I am now starting 29 - and still have with cutting of VHS to VHS, as NLE was still a dream ... (; was still no calculator in the Consumer Applications, the PAL was able to handle full-screen)!

I know the edit button of some VHS recorders, usually recommended to activate it during the cutting operation. Have yet nen JVC SVHS Recorder (; HR-S9600, at one time a top model), there is in the Instructions synonymous talk about it, one could use the EDIT mode when your camcorder to the recorder of dub. Explanation: "EDIT minimizes Bildbeinträchtigungen the cut (; Recording and Playback"). So, I'm assuming, since the signal is somehow enhanced / improved. But as so often is with such functions, they make no visible improvement, believe they are more for marketing / sales pitch. I've used again and not even that could not figure there is no difference ... - Return to the original question: I'd say, no reason to strip system to merge the new ...

The matter could not rest, so now I have a couple of minutes to a Hi8 tape captured, via the ADVC 300 and the one with the EDIT switch "OFF", the other with the EDIT switch "ON".

This time, moreover, the Sony camcorder with, not like other times even with the Sony Hi8 VCR.

We can already see a difference. I just do not know whether for better or worse :-( out;

I've enlarged the images in the post times. Here we see the changes, of course, clearly, but in general, noise is the result - no preference whether OFF or ON - pretty awful.

In downconverted HDV footage to SD (; by the camcorder - in my Canon HV-20 and XH-A1) Comparison with the HDV material gecapturetem falls far from clear. Just synonymous with digital zoom in the mail. The (; not downconverted) HDV footage is better at worlds!

If I have correctly understood the matter, leaves EDIT ON outplayed the material in a kind of "raw" mode, while EDIT OFF soften the picture slightly - for the "beautiful" picture impression in Plain View. "

Well then ...
