Hello,
I have so far with Movie Maker Mini-DV tapes to play on my PC (Windows XP). Now I have tried the same with HDV tapes of a Canon HV30 to make. Movie Maker does not recognize the camcorder ( "There is no device connected").
But I can on AVS TV Box from the videos directly from your camcorder to your PC monitor (if synonymous with bauklötzchendurchsetztem Picture and krrk-krrk sound).
If Movie Maker does not HDV tapes?

Hmm, no response. War may be a totally absurd question. Movie Maker is probably a gimmick, anyway, except me nobody uses.

Nee, the Movie Maker will not - have to play for free with HDVSplit, but for the average brauchts at least entry-level purchase programs, which may HDV.

Fujitsu-Siemens PC of 2002 (ACPI Uniprocessor PC)
- Windows XP Home with Service Pack 2
- 512 megabytes of RAM
- PCI slots (not PCIexpress)
- Firewire card
- Radeon 9250 graphics card with DVI output
- Intel Celeron CPU 2.00GHz
I had hoped until now that I HDV videos somehow at least the PC wars and out of there with a HD projector can play. Cutting in the sense of process is currently not necessary. I could tape material cut roughly by when I restore the transfer simply s.den desired stop points.
But I have garkeine hope that the PC the data fast enough to record and play it.
A new PC to buy, I continue to have no desire for any other purpose, I am very happy with him. In addition, I have no desire to Vista.
So I more or less of the option adopted on this PC HDVs run.

You buy a PC so not synonymous in the media market but at the dealer. There is for the same money, much more.
And as you can you choose the operating system synonymous. at least as long as XP still officially be sold. Is no problem.
And if you nor a version of XP at home ... who do you prevent it to install?
Just as I said: Something like you buy at the dealers. Media Markt and consorts have only complete PC's so it only partial synonymous VISTA Drivers there.
Only XP is extremely outdated content. Knew not what speaks against Vista.
I am very satisfied with Vista.

There are synonymous hard all the players can play up to 1080p (eg PopcornHour, is probably still the cheapest and the best). It may be a better solution than the PC to torture.

Can connect a HDV cam not (possibly with an AVCHD USB).
But the part played everything from (to 1920x1080p).
