Hab in Avid exported a video in quicktime.
When you import into Premiere CS3 is the video black.
If I import it into AE, he asked me to alpha mask, if I am going to ignore is the video to see.

As you select the transparency of the clip (right click -> context menu) and disabled the default choice. Although it would be very time-consuming if there are many clips are.
