Frage von charletto:Hello,
create my film with the JVC GY HD 720 P 110 in which of the three codec is now the best quality for saving on external FP? Had so far always as Mpeg 2 and transferred've synonymous top quality, but my question concerns a possible increase with the other - or is doing nothing more? H.264 is only for Achvid files?

Best quality in relation to size?
h264 is the best quality with smallest size and lowest compatibility (requires a reasonably powerful processor for liquid Playing).
MPEG4 ASP (which you probably do) found in DivX / XviD again, requires far less power to run fluid, you can of some DVD players can be played (albeit only in PAL resolution) and compression is not as efficient as h264 ( approximately 150 to 200% more for identical Filesize quality).
MPEG2 runs almost everywhere, does not need much power, but the inefficient synonymous Compression.
You see, it did not s.den BEST codec to have, because there is no BEST codec. There are only codecs on certain areas and only aim then you can take a decision regarding the appropriate codec s.besten meet.
For archiving of cut projects (with effects, etc.) eigenet is synonymous as a lossless codec such as free or Huffyuv Lagarith.

Maximum quality? Um, so since I would assume the HDV codec. So it does not compress next. Ist ja eh eingestaucht been enough. Hard disks have become cheap safe RAID itself, so why then the whole next convert? Each brings a deterioration Neukomprimierung.

HDV codec? So, I am actually no preference regarding the size, the finished film on ne 320er FP and WD is the TV play. Since the 720p recording Cam yes, I have now as Mpeg2 File a Endauflösung of 1280 x 720 is yes, as mentioned already ne top quality, I just wanted to know whether they still would be topped up?.

Na but the copy on the record as of the camera has come. More than what is stored on tape, you'll not go outside anyway.
Antwort von charletto:
I said, but cut from the film!

@ Charly
Any transfer to a different codec quality can only deteriorate because the codec is currently as usual on estimates and are based in the Picture are always lossy.
If only a single synonymous (or otherwise additional) tool, it also contributes to the deterioration in picture.
Even supposedly "better" codecs worsen the picture, because they are on a different codec and not put on a primarily generated by a Picture Optics.
As long as you do not necessarily smaller (or larger) files should have is to use another than the original codec rather counter-productive.

Hi Wolfgang,
Thank you for your answer. Then I stay at my Mpeg2. Thank you & loved ones greeting

Even the cut film can be saved without having to convert it? Thanks WoWu, which I thought so:)

I always use h264 for web videos in the HD field alla youtube and Vimeo.
Since then 4min video to 100MB in size and on the record sharp crack!
If I NEN codec to archive in full quality on my plate wishes straddling me to. M2t format (mpeg2). Just as it's at the cam comes out.

So I like WMV-HD 720/50p with 10Mbit / s quite well from PopcornHour (WD-TV is likely the same Sigma chip have).
