I have a 3 year old Samsung with DV tape and still want this year to a camera with the current memory (flash disk ...) and take a higher resolution Say better quality DVDs in my reach. As software I Magix Video Deluxe (soon to be the current version 15) a.
However, I have NO BlueRay and still not synonymous HD Television. This is, however, possibly for 2009.
That makes probably a yes AVCHD Camera little sense (my calculator is 1 year old, 2 GB of memory - but still not a quad).
Only there is the HD cameras produce (not as a tape storage media), and the result but I then burn to a DVD?
Or does it all does not make sense?

Video DVD (as we speak) has a standard PAL resolution.
As is synonymous with a high resolution camera is no longer on it.

Nevertheless, the investment in a new standard-definition camera nowadays little sense.
If you do not want to spend much money or can just simply stay at the Samsung and was an economical yet. The investment in a new SD camera takes somewhat longer s.Qualitaet, but is around 300-400 euros with no gift.
Otherwise at the moment is not a bad choice -> HDV. Recording in HD, SD and played off as so easy to get on DVD.
Canon HV30, there's around 750 euros (eg in Alternate) and SonyHC9 for about 800 (digitalo.de).
Oh, and the JVC Everio HD 30's are synonymous or s.ca. 650 euros - the Records both HDV AVCHD as synonymous to hard drive, if you are on a 'modern' value lay recording medium. And has for various tests is not as bad off.

HD makes more sense. You will see you in the ass if they want to bite times a HDTV (HD Ready or FullHD) is present and the recordings are not HD.
Instead BluRay is synonymous Harddisk Multimedia Player (eg PopcornHour). The plays everything from 1920x1080p.
Cams with flash memory or hard drive are the most AVCHD. And that takes quite a halt to s.PC computing power to process. But AVCHD snippets can be found on www.fxsupport.de a system in order to test.
Video-DVD is SD not HD Resolutionund resolution. There are opportunities from a data DVD with HD material (such as WMV-HD) to burn, but which is in most normal living-room DVD players are not playing (-> hard disk player). I would always be in HD and filmed and then cut very s.Schluss than 1x DVD-Video and 1x export as HD (s.besten either MPEG2, WMV-HD or h.264 on BluRay because the standard one). The PopcornHour can be used like WMV-mpeg2 HD and h.264 playback.
