Frage von Räuber:Moin, have the following problem: laptop (Vista 32-bit) is connected via DVI output to HDMI input s.Television (LCD). Transfer of best picture, sound zero (Windoze Media Player, VLCPlayer). On the laptop the sound is played normally. Where is my mistake? Normally it would have in this port combination with the sound transmitted?
Thanks and greetings, Stefan
Antwort von RickyMartini:
About DVI only the image signal is transmitted. On the other hand transmits the HDMI interface synonymous sound signals.

Hello and thanks for the info, if I instead transmits an S-video cable used, this then Picture and Sound?
Stefan
Antwort von RickyMartini:
No! S-Video transmits the signal for brightness and color separately, but neither is the sound!
For that you probably need a mini jack to RCA cable - depending on what kind of audio ports to use your equipment.

Alright, that is, laptop audio output to audio input Television (Black / Red). Thank you, sometimes you do not see the forest for the trees ...
