Frage von julius_karli:Hi.
I have until now only with the Apple ProRes (hq) worked. Unfortunately the only readable under Windows and not writable.
What are the codecs, with which we seriously on both systems can work? wenns is lossless

Antwort von MarcBallhaus:
I think Sheer will be useful, but must confess that it never used to have. Otherwise the number will fail less s.Codec rather s.der gamma issue.

Will the Apple ProRes codec for Windows sometime (synonymous to write) release? stupid question - but who knows?
Antwort von DanyX:
ProRes is lossy, but has a very high quality. Lossless 8-bit PNG would like the codec that works both as a read-write synonymous with windows and mac (mac under gabs times since, however, problems with the gamma settings so that the image in some programs, it is too bright / dark was - no idea if this was currently is).
Avid is synonymous for the DNxHD codec to download Quicktime, which are of quality comparable with ProRes (lossy but also very high quality). DNxHD is also synonymous 10 bit per channel, depending on what field of work can be very interesting.

Maybe I understand this wrong but if I want to work without loss (eg for movies) then I uncompressed. This is everywhere and les-writable.

Uncompressed video store, is a stopgap measure.
Uncompressed video is not only consumed a lot of unnecessary disk space, it will cost depending on the situation synonymous performance when large amounts of data relatively slow mass storage devices to read and they must be written.
Something here does not harm data.
