Frage von BJ:Hello,
because I will soon transfer to HDV, I wanted to or should I upgrade my hardware!
The current status is as follows:
- MacBook Pro 2.16 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
- 120 GB internal HD
- 3 GB of RAM (memory)
(probably supports Firewire 800)
Since my internal hard drive so obviously not enough, I need an external hard drive to capture and store the video files.
My question is:
- Do I need (for smooth work) in any case a firewire hard drive, or is synonymous a USB 2.0 hard drive from?
Since I appreciate a firewire hard drive in this case is a must, here is my next question:
- Can you give me good friend Firewire harddisks which are reasonably sufficient and the price was not more than 100 euros?

HDV has approximately the same data rate as DV; about .3 to 4 mb per second.
1hr. HDV video so need about 13 gigabytes on the disk.
With 500 Gb are you so very well be because the larger boards in relation expensive. 7200rpm should sein.Einen Manufacturer to call is a matter of taste,
I have good experiences with Seagate made. 2 Maxtor disks are abgeraucht me.
You should always test you buy 2 plates to protect your Daten.Shit happens.
On dsp memory hab ich dich attention because of the different
Connections to it now s.den external enclosures gibt. Also s.besten take what
With FireWire 400 & 800 as well as USB and eSata so you have the changes in the
Connection Policy Manufacturer calm at seeing. (As I have heard Apple saves itself as a pioneer of the firewire s.den new MacBooks this small port.) Enclosure for 3.5 inch disks require a separate power supply.
2,5 inch disks (external) part synonymous draw their power from the notebook battery, so they are "mobile", but have less capacity, are more expensive and slower.
I hope this helps
