Frage von christina81:Hello video experts
I just sort my data collection and would like to remove unnecessary. On a CD, I found a video that I've given times, which angebl. an MPEG-4 video was. I got it of an old media information can be analyzed and it was as MPEG-4 Simple Profile is issued. The new MediaInfo says it was an MPEG-4 Visual.
Both I do not know, I would like parts of the video cut out and already have the Xvid codec installed it with Virtual Dub all-inclusive with the tried and MatroskaSplitter. If it helps: the ElecardMPEGPlayer4.0.3 still plays the video from.
But with the program (preferably freeware) I can cut parts out without much loss of quality.
Thank you very much

Can s.sein that ever had a DVD? Because ISO 14496-1 version 1 are the specs for the menus. Then you have to rip the material first before you cut it into a system can give.
Otherwise, the video format actually consists of an unusual part of the MPEG4 specification and intended for presentation with graphic elements thought ....
Plays the CD (DVD) because on a DVD player, MPEG4 can?
Or can it be that the times, something like an Internet presentation with graphics (on top) was actually is "V" part of a hybrid codecs.
It will be difficult for a player to be found because "V" under the MPEG-4 licensing law, the MPEG LA manages. Actually, "V" (MPEG4Part2) synonymous (only) for interactive applications provided or there are so interactive tests have been carried out.
Apple has in the QT Part2 (simple profile) support, I know at the moment. whether the benefit of the Part10 now "kicked out", but if I would try to open the codec, then with Quicktime.

What is ripping?
Plays the CD (DVD) because on a DVD player, MPEG4 can? I have not tried.
I can contribute to the production of the CD does not say it is a CD with a hand-reportage, which was produced as I do not know. I would just compress and interesting places to cut.

Rib means, even if it was a DVD, then the file structure for reading processed by the player. In this case, audio - and video back into a common format and be consistent, which is a editing program can read.
Du Hast 's times tried on a MAC? Perhaps even with an older version of QT?
Antwort von Gast 0815:
Hi,
in any case is already a not very common format.
Just try if it is installed with ffdshow (http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=17394) and (the already installed) Haali Media Spliter in a DirectShow player (eg Media Player Classic) is playable; then one could, for example the video via Avisynth in Vdub capture and cut, or via graphedit in its elementary streams and dissect this further example, in a Avicontainer stuck.
Otherwise, if the Elcardplayer with playable, you can try synonymous with anzuzapfen filter (so it is displayed):
Graphedit (http://download.videohelp.com/download/graphedit041201.zip) open file in Elcardplayer play in graphedit press Ctrl + G, Graph select OK. In the File menu with "save s.graph" store. this should then also be opened via Avisynth.
Sorry, the whole thing is a bit complicated, but a simple solution for me at the moment does not (otherwise wait times, which means "brother John" in Gleizforum thinks about this ...)
