Frage von Sadow:Hi @ all!
I must Zusammenschneiden for a school project a movie. I have my camera on the VideoIn join my graphics card and added about WinDVR and + ber PowerDirector a scene and then saved as an mpeg. Now I wanted to import the file into Premiere, but unfortunately, he tells me "Corrupted file or unknown format". I then file with the TMPEnc've converted to AVI. Jezz The file is 4GB in size (the film is so far only 1:30 min long!) And now I can import the file synonymous. But I have not enough room to make everything about AVI. Like "I'll deal with Premiere" with MPEG? There are other solutions?
Thank you,
Sadow

I have my camera on the VideoIn join my graphics card and added about WinDVR and + ber PowerDirector a scene and then saved as an mpeg. it is nevertheless determined to a DV camera. The data from the DV band you usually play into the PC via firewire. then you present a DV-AVI, which you can edit in the average program.
you would not have this problem:
Now I wanted to import the file into Premiere, but unfortunately, he tells me "Corrupted file or unknown format". Premiere teach you can not deal with MPEG, because 1 Premiere MPEG can not deal with, and 2 MPEG is not designed for post-processing.
MPEG you should only have very s.schluß if your project is completed and you are sure to want to change anything in it. MPEG is primarily a space-saving storage and distribution medium, but not for videoschnitt suitable.
But I have not enough room to make everything about AVI. but your main problem is apparently the lack of space, right? In any case you need to compress the material to be processed with a codec. probably fall off in your case a lossless codec, as these reach only a small compression.
unfortunately I can not tell you what codecs are useful for editing in premiere, since I had always been working with uncompressed material. But such views but here in the forum or google search for "codec for video editing or something in the response art - or wait for the next ...
much more effective

Hi All,
we should capture DV-AVI, if the material is to be cut. Compression formats such as MPEG do in the postpro often angry and da TV cards usually only MPEG, they are not the right tools for this task.
