a preface: PLEASE, PLEASE do not of the length of my contribution deterred!
I torture myself for about 4 years with a Pinnacle PCTV card around. I was inexperienced as to the digitizer of VHS and purchased the following experiences:
If the FBAS - or Y / C signal from a stable source of analog TV, DVD player, etc., then the picture quality is actually quite good. Comparison as I have a digital viewfinder camera on the TV-Out (CVBS) and captured and connected at the same time the original Picture s.PC reduced to 720x576 and compared the two - the composite picture was hardly worse!
For good VHS recording, the card synonymous no problems (although the picture is not stable and therefore easily trembles), with critical shots, however, tilts the picture away and there are loads of drop-frames. Also annoys me a half-Alternating Farbflimmern in red areas.
The problem with the A / V synchronization of sound and TV card I have only with VirtualDub and its Synchronisierfunktion (audio pitching) to get a grip.
After seeing the dream of an ADVC-300 on the price have given up, I play now with the thought of my ADVC-55 to purchase, but this still had some questions:
1. The ADVC-55 has told the ADVC-300-NO Time Base Corrector :-( - how does this affect me?
2. Can I use with the ADVC-55 synonymous correct a color shift? (Would not that important because I do with my VHS never had problems)
3. Can I have a noise reduction switch? (I wish more software to make no correction)
4. Is the quality of internal AUDIO! Converter after a good sound card? (The 48kHz 16bit stereo PCM are perfect for video!)
5. Can I use the material on a computer - in your camcorder to tape record (of my own has no A / D converter)
