Frage von holgaaar:Hi folks.
I've got a question today regarding the medium of "mini-DV."
The current tape length are 60min.
Furthermore, there are 80min-tapes.
I want to record in HD (SonyHVR-V1).
I have read, "that are special HD tapes with 63min recording capacity there."
My question:
Are quality-80min tapes for HD recording at all suitable, I mean technically speaking?
I would not like the quality of something is lost (hence the synonymous for me Long Play mode is not in question).
The V1 has the option as a possible hard-Recorder (HVR-DR 60), but I am of hard drive is not really convincing.
Would have like to go Mini-DV.
The choice of the recording medium, but please do not degenerate to the discussion, my question is simply:
Is 80min with a mini-DV tape in a lossless recording of HD possible?
Thank you in advance for your reply.

... my only question is: Is 80min with a mini-DV tape in a lossless recording of HD possible? Yes. The coating is the same, only the substrate is thinner, so that in the standard-fit tape.
But the thinner the more dangerous for the tape transport.
That should include the consideration.
