I would like but on my 1.06-meter plasma screen no MPEG2 compressed movies but watch as the best that the camera has delivered on tape to see (without the tape of the camera to have run ;-) since HDV is clearly better than "normal" DV. This is in fact hochskaliert and then --- würg.
Here the first question. I use Windows Vista and the capture function. Is there a difference in quality if I eg Ulead capture? If no preference. The main thing you forget in connection with capturing the letters U, S, and B.

Power as an external disk with players such as the possibility Terratec tu Movie Station sense? synonymous no preference, that's just the storage media. Changes nix s.der quality.

On the DVD fit 4.7 GB on MiniDV tape 13 GB (1 hour). A video DVD is therefore always more or less compressed and - o miracle - it's MPEG2. When moderate compression factors (1 hour on DVD) is a good codec, the picture quality very personable.
Does it make any sense of the films later in an HD format to convert? The Resolutionist but too small or eh? That is, in principle, Quark and the same as a digital zoom. Conversely, it is (must be even when a video DVD is inserted).
Is an HDMI connection and upscaling 720p etc. nonsense for the output quality? Or maybe not. ... this part of the question, I do not understand.

In a MPEG2 with variable bitrate, rendered with Premiere Pro or TMPEGEnc, max. 90 min on 1 DVD, playing of a good DVD player, one sees almost no differences compared with the direct playback from the camcorder tape.

As my outpost has said, you failed in compression with sufficient data, even in MPG2 not much difference.
Nevertheless, the starting material and of course better if you have the money for so Spielenreien searched, do not let that stop. :)
This raises the question whether these devices, such as Avis Pinnacle of the network or via Wlan unnecessary play. Theoretically, yes. Even the relatively lame WLan should have enough bandwidth for DV AVI movies.
Practically, the direct connection then perhaps predictable.

In addition to the above-with TMPEGEnc I have less good experiences can be synonymous, the Canopus ProCoder Express recommended (approx. 60 euros). For the highest possible bit rate (= a good hour duration per DVD) is no visible difference to unkomprim. Original to recognize.

If I zBsPC a DV-AVI and play via TV-Out in the television guide, then the picture is much worse than an MPEG from the DVD player. The graphics card makes the analog conversion much worse than the DVD player, which represents much more than the minimum quality of the DV-AVI.

At least the main station can Terratec Movie garkein DV AVI, but only MPG2/MPG4 play and apparently has only analog outputs.
