Hello everybody!
Have me in a rental camera, the XL-1 out for a concert recording. (Have 4 cameras are used, the other 3 SONY)
When viewing the tapes (3 per Camera) much to me now that s.Mitte of the second bands, as Canon XL-1, image error (pixel-offset), and gelegendliche Tonkratzer occurred. I have this cam as Handcam directly s.der stage is used, it is the very big trouble!
All other cams ran reliably.
I have now started following trial - have two times the same digitized and placed on top of each other in order to test whether the error same place synonymous s.der occur - this was not the case, or only partially, and sometimes even a frame in order before the error components. On the edge of the tape fell s.mancher my body small, thin grooves close to the hard to see were not s.anderer place again - but where errors could be seen.
By the above, I could with my VX-1000 and one of HDR-FX1 Sony better work than this with the Canon XL1, the entirely unsatisfactory synonymous nor is balanced (balance center of the weighting ...)
Someone knows something about whether the tapes any transaction carried out, or I possibly can give a link to a thread or article, as the head of the write data to the tape writes, in what order and direction of the digital data are backed up, only so I at least times a Picture from the procedure can do.

you have the tapes, which recorded with the XL1 have been synonymous with this camcorder gecapturet? If not, would be interesting for you to know that Canon is often not recorded tapes with Sony devices tolerated.

Then I start again somewhere mal ne Cam Canon or Canon of player care.
Do you happen to have a page or thread, nothing found in Wiki, such as on a MiniDV tape-recorded, or whether more data in the middle, or synonymous s.Rand of the tapes, whether Picture and sound are coded together, so where and how the data on the magnetic tape to be written. So I could make me a picture, as differences may occur. 've been in the net after a sketch / drawing searched, but am not yet found anything.

PS: So when the Canon XL1 urged enormous talent, I think, especially if the concert recordings - the autofocus can be viewed here as opposed to the FX-1 of Sony did not leave - and the sole control of the manual focus is synonymous enormously difficult because the small depth of field at unpredictable movements simply too glaring to control, so I switched on the auto and manual always nachgeholfen. The camera has a particularly extreme difficulties with backlight. In a situation similar concert recording, which I with the VX-1000 and FX-1 of Sony, so there were absolutely no problems, I could easily focus manual control - is also the Canon XL1 very uncomfortable in the hand, because I had shutter, iris, zoom and focus range to operate at the same time to achieve good shots - that was in the rear left Gewichtlastigkeit after a difficult exercise. :-)

Hi Daniel,
on a MiniDV tape is recorded in a similar way as on an old VHS tape, just digitally and without Längsspurton. What Canon should be distinguished, are details on the data structure, not the nature or place of magnetic storage.
