I now have a camcorder and want to buy me a microphone to do so.
The question I ask myself now is: Do I really need a stereo microphone, or enough of mono?
When I film, of course, many musicians / bands / marching bands, it would probably be worth a stereotype. But when I rarely do?
Of course I see synonymous while the price difference between mono and stereo, of course, is not without.

Murfel you've actually already answered your question, almost himself. if you want to buy a micro, you need to know just what you do often. dialog when your application is normal, I would with mono-polar pattern (cardioid or super) recommend. so you get less noise on the tape, but can sometimes take up atmospheric synonymous.
otherwise - once again indicative stereo and micro. I find the way, that it is passable in all microscopic regions decent price, so that two to have microscopic certainly is not overkill.

So, now I have it: what is important, a Richtimikrofon (ECM-HW1) and the good thing is if I get the point really well with the shooting and editing the video and beautiful results, then I'm going to maybe in 2 throw away years of time, a better cam (maybe then with HD) and need not specify the directional microphone, because it is kompartiebel on other models.
Will now look only where the directional microphone is ordered.

I would video for the short or long in any case buy a directional microphone, if you like the sound of the camera from aufnimmst, dhsdie camera / tripod infected.
everything else you always bring too much indirect sound, which today is simply almost taboo. actually always trying to work out details, both in image as synonymous in tone. So the closer with the micro s.die source, the better. that is quasi-directional microphone, because we do not even ding the film finally!
