Hi,
My GS300 from scratch, is hanged by fw s.den pc and
not detected. 've tried it on 4 different computers all with xp sp2,
2 different cables (4.6 pin)
have the windows firewire patch as described in this forum installed
the camcorder via USB is detected.
I previously had an old sony pc1e in use, that worked smoothly on all computers with fw.
panasonic camcorder has someone with similar experience made or can someone give me tip someone like me could solve the problem before I must return the camcorder as defective.

have the same problem as mursello, but with the panasonic gs 180th
The camera is not recognized via firewire s.meinem laptop (medion). she appears in the device manager, but not having an imaging device, but only with other devices and is equipped with the infamous ausrufezeichen.
via usb it will normally recognize pictures, I can easily transfer synonymous.
via usb, I can not transfer movies, here the connection seems to be too slow, I just get out and see again the recording, then another jump, then it's back next choppy. connection is usb 2.0, then surely it should not be synonymous. I've still be bought 1gb ram, but it has not helped synonymous.
So I tried the listed here in the forum to exclude possible sources of error fierwire for the connection.
1. Windows XP with SP2 (I have default windows xp with service pack1 or should I not therefore of concern)
2. Wackelkontakt s.4-pol. Firewire (may times I think I ruled out after all, he shows the camera s.im device manager, if only synonymous with the ausrufezeichen)
3. Virus scanner (or other program) running in the background (off)
4. The hard drive is highly fragmented, not (the case is defragmented)
5. Not enough free space on your hard drive (I could not transfer anything yet, so I conclude this time out errors, but should be synonymous sufficient present)
6. Unsuitable capture software (I have used original panasonic and winDV, both recognize any connected device)
7. Conflict of Firewire card with other PC components (firewire connection fixed, is not a problem in the device manager

trying to exclude the possible causes is a by one. Be recognized as other DV camcorder s.Deinem PC? Your camcorder is recognized s.anderen PCs? With the same or a different Firewire cable?

But you have chosen in your camera that you want to capture via Firewire? By default, that is set via USB2.
I have the camera synonymous with me and it works perfectly (which does not help you, I know) but see if you have time to set it right s.der Camera.

Jay The tape playback menu you can see "USB Function" choose between Motion-DV and webcam. But this has to my knowledge, no influence on the Firewire interface

We had a thread here synonymous been purchased in which the user for his JVC camcorder then the original cable from the same Manufacturer's (for about 35 ¬!) And so that it then worked flawlessly. Cheap Firewire cable s.1, 99 ¬ any good against anything.

I have a windows xp2 Version worried installed - and lo and behold, it works ;-))) the gs-180 is detected via firewire capture that works with all programs. the normal update of the site mikroweich therefore not sufficient to bring the camera to run on.
but this still does not (smoothly) is does the recording via usb. But one should not use synonymous yes ;-)
