Hi,
I play with the idea of me a Netbook (S9e Lenovo IdeaPad, Intel Atom N 270, 1.6 GHz, Windows, 160GB HD) zuzulegen to view this as a mobile HDV recorder to use. The Firewire interface for this device may be on the Xpress Card 54 Slot retrofitted.
Has this been someone with the little things trying? If yes, does it then synonymous with the preview function?
The further course is not on the Netbook done, simply store the images.
I'm curious to your experiences.

I had synonymous (in the meantime has 10 or more years, then there's is synonymous already a Netbook ;-) SonyC1-XD waaaahsinnig with a rapid whole P2 with 400MHz, with which I trouble capturing DV video could.
Since HDV yes the same data on the firewire sends, it should theoretically work. As however in practice (unstable drivers, Harwarekonflikte, etc.), I can you not say, unfortunately synonymous. The result of this experiment would be me but in any case interested.

So, I did it just "done".
For 250 EUR I have me a Lenovo IdeaPad S9e (1.7 GHz, 1 GB Ram, 160 GB hard drive, Windows XP, 8.9 Inch LCD) and a suitable firewire Xpress Card (25 EUR) increased.
1. Not required pre Schnickschnack eliminated.
2. The DVD of MAGIX Video Prox on my external hard drive and copied off of the Netbook installed. This went smoothly as far as Magix in this version is not the original DVD during the installation again reviewed.
3. Firewire card is inserted, was immediately recognized.
4. My SonyCam plugged in and turned on.
The capture occurred in my first test flawlessly with HDV but with significantly delayed preview. I got the Capture tool of Magix Video Prox used.
Then I would go a couple of DV-AVI on the plate geschaufelt to test whether a simple DV editing is also possible. VideoProX can be quite good in the display to adjust. I have the preview window at the barely tolerable minimum reduced and was able to achieve that I am in the Timeline 4 tracks with each other at a glance without scrolling did.
In unberarbieteten playing AVIs went smooth. I have so far only a few hard cuts probiert. That was super.
I am in my Easter vacation in the Netbook try to make a long overdue major IT project to be cut. My experience, I will then report back here and a few synonymous Screen Shots attached.
So far, I can only say I'm surprised, especially when I consider that a portable firewire hard drive recorder s.die 900 EUR and it will cost much less opportunities ... but I do not want me to look at, but the first test. ..

HD (V) is always said that it is sooo very Rechnerlastig. If then only on the final calculation? And for the Caputure (dubbed?) Do not need much computing power?

If you do not preview the videos show it should actually with almost every laptop / Netbook possible, no preference how old (ok, 10 years old should be the thing vllt. Not to be ^ ^). Only when the material you want to watch (or cut), it is fast and without a good graphics card and double core CPU you will not be next ...
