Newsmeldung von slashCAM: New MacBooks in the approach of rudi - 1 Nov 2007 12:27:00 Apple itself has not yet adopted an official announcement about this indicated the U.S. webstore carries the new models, however, already. Maybe Apple wants to be synonymous not so loud bang, because the changes do arg but within limits: For the same prices, the larger models now instead of 2.2 GHz and 2.16 GHz can now be up to 4 GB of Ram to be strengthened. In addition, Intel is now instead of the GMA950 chipset X3100 successor in the laptop, the graphics performance of the MacBook is slightly aufpäppeln. Whether, however, for a formal certification for Final Cut Pro, Motion, or even color range is still open. The increase in performance for comparable Windows models holds in any case in wicked borders and comes far s.einen dedicated graphics approached. Therefore, we would in this respect, the expectations are too high rather not screw.

Not understand the information. Recently it was in discussion to read that Final Cut Pro even Macminis can run. So why not on the new graphics card? This is still 5x as fast as the GMA 950 in the Macminis!
Antwort von PowerMac:
You need to have accurate with such topics and differentiate. "Running can be" equal "officially supported". Practical experience and is running even Final Cut Pro on a Mac mini, only Color and Motion will not run. Officially supported s.Mac is to use the small mini and Macbook not. Apple justify that with the weak graphics performance of the devices, but for the end user is sufficient. Now the hope was that Apple's new MacBook on the use of FCS officially supported, because the graphics performance of these new species could be sufficient. Apple wants but rather "large" MacBook, so professional with the right equipment sale. Otherwise kanibalisieren the sales of the device so small that of the big ones. And there is the officially supported run a professional software for a system of internal differentiation.

I would be interested to know which version of Final Cut Pro on a regular MacBook is running. For example, FCS 4.5 or version 5 or synonymous studio?
Clearly the performance with his Pro better but in principle? Does someone own experiences? PowerMac, so you have already worked?
Antwort von PowerMac:
There are only Final Cut Studio 2 And that is synonymous to the MacBook. Rest is no older version (with the exception of next sentence). And while on the grounds that this is for Intel processors is made. Final Cut Studio 1 would be synonymous run, if you update the Intel still could buy.
So: FCS 2 will s.Macbook. More precisely: everything except Motion and Color.

Antwort von PowerMac:
Final Cut Studio 2 does not need a agp graka "but a supported" graka "so that all programs are running. Without a suitable graphics card to run Motion and Color not. The remaining programs already - if not officially supported synonymous. 2 GB of RAM are the lowest standard anyway.
