Frage von Q-Panic:I recorded in the U.S. with two films on a Z1 and HDV on a Mac system with Final Cut Pro captured. Final Cut Pro captured so files in Quicktime. These can be synonymous watch without Final Cut Pro without any problems on the Mac with QT.
The finished film, I have exported with the 1080/60i HDV codec in a Quicktimefile from Final Cut Pro. Also the file works fine on the Mac.
Now I wanted to watch the movies on my Windows PC, but it does not works. All I ever see (literally) knows. Neither Adobe After Effects (synonymous that went on the Mac), Avid still recognizes the file. Avid is before actually importing the file, but s.end seen but only white. Also Canopus Procoder can not do anything with the file.
Me missing a codec for Windows?
I wanted to film soon with the Z1 and possibly cut on Avid Xpress HD. Would it go, if I would capturn natively in Avid? I could then see the files on the Windows computer?
Did anyone ever have an identical problem?
Thanks for the help.

Hi,
In fact, Windows has saved the license fees for the MPEG 2 codec.
In general, it is enough to install a software player. Which brings to the codec with. The NLE should be present, however, a codec, maybe he just has to be unlocked (APP versuchs 1.5)

I think that would have on your system to have the Quicktime player installed, and the other synonymous or a dedicated MPEG plugin for Quicktime Player, but this is a charge.
Without this plugin you can download the Quicktime player with MPEG-2 files do nothing and many nonlinear editing systems, which in principle can deal with Quicktime formats, go in the background going through the Quicktime Player - that was not there, then installed as a codec that is synonymous of many other systems is denied.

Sorry, I have so completely failed to understand that. I can not play an HDV Quicktime file. That's mpeg-4? Or am I now lie completely wrong. mpeg-2 is still normal DVD standard. I have no problem. Can prima m2v files with DVD Decrypter to rip, etc.
When I am on the Z1 with AVID AVID would capture the HDV signal but can not read. Why can he an HDV file, that of Final Cut Pro as a QT file was captured not read? And why it can not even Adobe After Effects.
All of this is beyond me. I wish I had the money to switch to a PowerBook with Final Cut Pro Suit ...
