Are you sitting like to be close together at one meter distance in front of the boob tube? It's synonymous may be a "computer" monitor, as long as the DVD player (; or how the play will always be synonymous) and the monitor have matching connections. (yes, eg the above-mentioned: HP LP2475w)
But is not optimized for the display of video images -> a cheaper Television will almost always have a nicer picture.
Otherwise, the "Home Cinema" pleasure ... perhaps a beamer (; you can not convince them the GEZ s.leichtesten "Listening Rundfunkgeraet have to") or an HD-ready (and if it really is just DVDs) plasma display (; schoener for films - Panasonic or so - not too cheap ).

Thank you for the first time responses! I ever see a next step. We already have a DVD player with scart cable. So we only need one screen. Would be nice 22 "(; inches) or something like that. This computer monitors do not have a scart connection, right? If the plasma screens really unhealthy? Are there any reviews? Came to us probably a cheaper but very good television in question? Bin s.rumsurfen and yet still can not find a satisfactory solution ...
But I notice that here real "professionals" are and I thank all those who share their knowledge with us lay people!

Shortly relating to "scart connection" The would only (and rarely) the Television. Computer monitors with analog video input would be (but can be adapted easily to Scart;) a few euros.
My opinion: "old television" would s.gesundheitschädlichsten, then maybe Plasmas, TFT's not at all (and I am thinking s.The X-rays).

You have so right, everything is somehow harmful, if it is exaggerated. We have now opted for an older television, we have now synonymous get over "such and find favorable." And as we look at "only" DvDs and save us all the TV scrap, we hope that we will not gotten too much radiation, but it's just there is nothing better than watching a good movie to relax ....

If you look anyway just DVDs that are older devices not only fully sufficient, but in some cases even better than LCD or plasma.
