What system should be a notebook for DV editing (AVID) and compositing have?
Specifically: Is it worth the $ 200 laptop purchase more to invest, so that the notebook instead of 2 GB of RAM 4 GB

In particular, the memory and the processor. For HDV editing 2GB Ram are a must and really should be a quad inside his synonymous. The graphics card is really only a side issue, unless you make a laptop with 3D animations, because the huge gnaw s.der graphics card.

The graphics card probably plays a role. Some programs, like Premiere, use it heavily.
