Why are the small, often cheaper cameras with up to 30 times optical zoom and the good, expensive "only" with 12?

My tip:
- Because the more expensive the lens is of high quality and if you have such b. 12 goes, it no longer brings the full power, ie the quality is bad (and it is not worth the cameras are good because people who are more expensive cameras buy more zoom almost never need it).

All factors play a role.
The processing, design and size, the quality of the elements, the calculations, the extent of the magnification factor, the mechanics (which is on the shelf and the impact ... A cheap camcorder is easy with a convenient 30-fold optics device, as the quality with the (small) sensors equally (badly) is. Small lenses are usually poor. A small size is desired synonymous with cheap cameras.
A more expensive camcorder has respect and image processing chip, a higher threshold, so the optics better than his cheap camcorder should be. A high magnification is only for large optics with large size and high price to reach. The thing is however relatively small, overpriced and not good. Ergo: good with little Optics Tele.
