In the instructions for use of my DVD player is not explicit in it that he plays NTSC format.

It seems rather s.Regionalcode fail. U.S. DVDs are region code 1 and can not be on European Region-2-players.

I already have more DVDs ordered at Amazon.com. Was never a problem. Sometimes you have to s.den Inch nor postmen and import VAT to pay, sometimes you're lucky and have the package slip through untouched inch. Because of the regional codes, but nobody asks.

The country code is used to playing on the devices in other regions to avoid so you do not release films rüberholt. That there are many players there are the free code is a shame for the film industry but legally irrelevant.
The only thing legally problematic is the resale of Import-DVDs/CDs from non-EU countries within Germany.
