Frage von Mannimanta:Hi folks,
I built a holiday DVD and would now send our French holiday acquaintance.
Question:
Can French German DVD player ever, so rendered in PAL DVD's play?
As far as I know, but the French have a different television standard, right?
Greets,
Manni
Antwort von Cillvur:
France is in Europe one of the few countries that uses the television Farbcodierstandard called SECAM. Oui oui, très chic, très chic ... Probably for the old PAL Fronßösen zü ordinäär ...
The only other standards are just a bit worse, the PAL and NTSC.
Wiki can tell you more about that:

So I'm here now, come next bit,
My research revealed until now:
DVD player can be either Pal or NTSC, or both. (No preference where in the world they are purchased)
Secam DVD player does not exist because Secam is only on the analog Page the norm in France. (for television)
ie on a French DVD player would funz my German DVD, because it is so digitally processed in the player and the standard conversion takes place only on the output side.
If someone has other information, please report.
Thanks,
Manni

Hi Manni,
I would burn a PAL DVD and send the holiday acquaintance. Although the SECAM color coded differently than PAL, but now synonymous should understand that most French PAL devices. This standard is catching on in Europe at least, more and more.
PS: Did you know that France SECAM has evolved to protect themselves from foreign imports, video equipment, ensure that is its own market? - But that is all in
Antwort von grovel:
If your acquaintance can play DVDs, then they can play PAL DVDs, then sell in fact synonymous in France. SECAM is the DVD standard is not provided.
