Frage von cidercyber:I had to buy a used DVC 30 and mystery now is whether they can communicate with my Mac G5 dual (2GHZ). What makes me a little unsure of is that the manual only of 4 - or 6-pin FireWire port is spoken, my Mac even offers FireWire 400 and 800 connections. But they do not fit all fit in the attached DV cable, whose time is very small and not a Mac. And what is with those described in the manual ferrite cores? On my DVC30 was not here, but the cable looks as though that were incorporated. How can you tell whether this is so, and we need these ferrite cores really? I will probably have to buy a special cable to transfer material to the Mac. What is the adapter cable I need, and which supports the standard DVC 30, FireWire 400 or FireWire 800? Thanks for your help, and I'm curious about when I can make the first small sequences with i-Movie (Video'm an absolute beginner and have bought on the advice from the forum member "Powermac" this camera, and especially because I am synonymous with the infrared mode, and an additional infrared laser Owls would add). I'm curious about how it works! First you are handling and in the first recording me the camera very well: small, convenient, fast and, as it looks, an excellent picture quality!

Salut Heiner,
erstmal So congratulations on your purchase! And do not worry about the stupid cable ends, Pan is with Sun and Can the three of Apple's FireWire support guarantees brands.
What worries me that you are glad to work with i
Movie. If you have not a borderline sunny disposition, I fear a bitter disappointment. iMovie fits on a Powermac like ketchup on roast pheasant.

iMovie fits on a Powermac like ketchup on roast pheasant. Well, the tastes are different, especially for beginners ;-) iMovie is very well suited, as it quickly comes to experiences of success. My PowerMac can certainly live quite well with the fact that he hosts alongside Final Cut Pro, iMovie, synonymous, and who einarbeitet in the latter a bit, will conclude that the program so make some. Later, for more complex editing tasks so you can still rise up to FCE or Final Cut Pro. So cidercyber, have fun with iMovie and the new Camera!

... by the way, like ketchup rather than roast pheasant ...

Thanks for the great tips! The camera I bought, because I supplementation for about 14 days of a young owl in the wild, apparently because the adult birds feed by nocturnal restlessness of people s.dem quarry too little. The young bird I had tonight with the new camera after the depositing of the lining of a suitable distance filmed (just before dawn) and was stunned how good they are still used with 16x zoom out of hand. The user "Powermac" had given me the tip with this camera, and that was the right place!

The user "PowerMac" is very competent;)
No, seriously: The DVC30 is a great device. Like a small DVX100 with infrared and pretty small. Works perfectly, of course s.Mac!
Glad if production is running beautifully!
