-EN: Layout for the Asian market, PAL
-P (mostly omitted): Version for the North American market, NTSC

I've heard that supposedly you can switch between NTSC and PAL EN? is that really true??

Theoretically, it would be conceivable, because Asia is large and where there are both PAL countries (eg China) as synonymous NTSC countries (eg Japan).
