There is a possibility the Menusprache in the GS500 (EU-device, no possibility of German as Menusprache select only English, Japanese and other languages such as Arabic, perhaps).
Perhaps by using Software Update or key combination?

Japanese American ect. Warscheilich synonymous Pal device but not an NTSC unit.
