Is one of the few camcorders with high-speed USB.
Is this one of the "stopper" is on USB and swears.
This is true but only for the high-speed USB camcorder. For all other "Firewire".

If you want to use already existing software is, you land in firewire anyway, because the high-speed transmission via USB only works in conjunction with the included special software - and the only synonymous, though some PC requirements are met. Incidentally, you can check the manuals of the camera and this software of the Panasonic home page and download yourself before your purchase so familiar.
