Frage von Vince:Dear Forum,
I'm planning to post production for a feature film that is to be then scanned copy of the work for the cut to a different format to 35mm and rotated.
For the Post and I would be very useful if this material would be scanned on DVD and I then digitize it into AVID. However, I do not know how frame-accurate DVDs are really, but with superimposed timecode and keycode in the Picture, that should still be easy - or what do you think? Has anyone already made the experience comic Digigalisieren of DVDs?
Thank you and best regards,
Vince
Antwort von Schleichmichel:
Not directly. As long as everything was properly logged ... But it is not practical to have to scan quite conventional tape, perhaps even directly on a hard drive?
Importing DVD into Avid pattern sounds a bit awkward. Perhaps there are problems with the timecode track.

Hi Vince,
writable but please, why you want to play out on DVD, and especially in what format? If you MPEG2 komrimierst course, you can cut any more.
If you want to work an offline editing and would like to do with a codec such as DV, then the medium plays no role in theory (hard drive, DVD, Tape), synonymous when DVD is very unusual.
But:
With a 35mm production (where failure means a lot s.Money) I would not be able to take in Comparison to tape or hard drive relatively insecure medium like DVD.
But as I said, just write me, so you're reliant on DVD.

Hi Rob and surreptitious Michel,
thanks for the reply. The reason for DVD's: the copy center in Baden-Baden and my editing room in Berlin. On DVD, the daily shipping is cheaper and easier, because the letters can be thrown in my mailbox if I am not there. But probably you are right and side sensing on mini-DV is more secure.
The time code is really no preference, since the material will have all the information in the Picture and I will miss the clips in Avid then the corresponding post-TC.
The cut, of course, is offline, the final format will be 35mm. I would digitalis the DVD in the DV codec. On hard drive scan is probably not, because I had to copy the work of any day to send a new hard drive. Synonymous and I do not know how up to date because the are in Baden-Baden. But you're right, mistakes were very expensive and probably I should ask, I prefer to send the DV.
Thanks again and best regards!
Vince

Hi Vince,
MiniDV cassettes you can send in bubble envelope and then the synonymous landing in your mailbox, unless you are there. Unless your mailbox is very very small. ;-)
As a letter this shipping cost, depending on the packaging (Height of the program) 1.44 ¬ or 2.20 ¬.
