Hi,
I bought Premiere CS4 for AVCHD Cut videos natively. In addition, I use a normal Windows XP system with Premiere Pro 2.0, with which I am completely satisfied.
I have now (on my MacPro, 8-core, 2.8 GHz, 8 GB RAM) which I normally only use for music production, under Boot Camp and Windows XP (; SP2) Premiere CS4 installed because of my MacPro's fastest Calculator is.
The program starts (; after it has) ever charged, I can drag the AVCHD clips to the timeline, you can move the time cursor, but I can play anything, neither with 'space', nor in any of the other windows of CS4. After a few clicks lubricates the program nciht s.and responding. I use the Contour Shuttle Pro Control II, it still lubricates faster, probably because of CS4 there receives more commands at once.
I did a test basis CS4 synonymous (on my normal Core2Duo, 2.1 GHz Intel, 2 GB RAM) installed. My impression was that the creation of the preview files on this system was slightly faster than on the MacPro. I can easily start synonymous CS4, and as the shuttle funktikoniert directly without any problems, you can only work with this configuration, not just because all of course with a 2.1 duo, he is far too slow.
Back to the Mac: A (; my) XP is, unfortunately, as geagt nothing. The XP is otherwise more or less clean, except for a drivers for my sound card RME Fireface 800 of. This boot camp is set up only for the Videoschnit.
Question: Has anyone s.Laufen this combination? Is sinnwoll (he) switch, a 64-bit Vista (, possibly with an upgrade voucher for Win7)?

The problems with CS4 on the native Windows, I can not understand. I would try again ne complete reinstallation.

The question, why do not use a Mac CS4, or (and, in addition) Final Cut Pro, but is entirely justified.

Without the XP audio driver, it will not happen IMO. What shows the PPro with the audio settings?

I bought the CS4 Win Upgrade, because I really wanted to stay on the PC platform. Testing was unfortunately not so, appropriately enough, since the trial version does not support AVCHD. I would therefore now for the first time working under Boot Camp and then later possibly build a separate PC for the topic, because as I said: The Mac Pro is really only useful as an audio system and it is to become synonymous. I look again to the audio drivers, because I'm basically synonymous think that it somehow has to work under Boot Camp.
To wait for Win7, would be nice, but time is unfortunately not,

Oh, and clearly, the RME drivers are on it, current version.
And Final Cut Pro does not come into question because, first, significantly more expensive than my upgrade, secondly, a completely new program, new workflows, ... And thirdly, there is not changed before and native cut. I think this is a waste of time, and somehow I do not like this procedure.

That with the audio drivers I just do not understand - you use the RME as an audio device in CS4? Even if the would have to actually go, I would certainly disable erstmal a test basis.
Wait for Windows 7 should not be synonymous solution - only losing to Vista as long as ...

Thanks for the note with the audio driver. Premiere was the default Windows Geraffel set. Now, I have chosen the Fireface, and everything works. So I would certainly rather later sought after - many thanks.
