Hello,
following phenomenon: if I make a movie in WMP start will zap just before the first frame a few gray squares. When I click STOP, I see the synonymous. Is not soo tragic because they disappear once the movie is running.
BUT: If I have a Powerpoint file in MPEG1 installation, PPT is precisely this first picture (black with gray "Störquadraten") as a preview (even if the actual movie starts as pure white). That is very annoying.
Have no idea what you could do or in what direction at what I could test. Have the newest player on it, so with update is nich. An alternative player is not synonymous, because as I said the main problem occurs in PPT where I whlen the player can not (or would).
Who knows what?

In MPEG2 the mistake I've not yet found. 1-2 In unkompr tested. AVIs do.

Just try the following tests:
1) experimental times in MS Media Player without the other programs such as virus scanners, firewalls etc running in the background (still in the taskmanager s.besten all non-stop Windows services), error-free playback means then, one of the "by-program" creates the effect.

Look into the options and select the player, as far as possible, everything that might disturb synonymous DRM or a plugin.
If this does not make make a rollback to the version 9er: First, in the Control Panel-> Software hook before "show updates" and then use the later versions to uninstall, then you're back to WMP9 arrived, do you like this player of MS (for safety's sake) nochmal runter new (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/Browse.aspx?displaylang=de&categoryid=4)
