I did last year a used Canon XL1 purchased. Unfortunately until now I had not really time myself with this cam to be tackled. I bought the cam in order to promo Flimchen for my company to turn.
Unfortunately, I have some problems. The Color performanceist not 1:1 as it should be, especially the green is a little too toxic.

I practice synonymous with an XL1. The color with the performanceist yes quite subjective, depending on subject and light. At a workshop last week, the Canons total more robust colors written.
How do you sharp? The manual focus ring, I think grauslich. If I ranzoome and then push AF pressures that are suitable objects to 7 meters away from a clean focus. If this does not work, I would tap on a defect.

Hi,
so subtle rules, as they offer the new Canons, when I can not find XL1. On the subject of "deep sky blue" is my ND-filter, blue filter or the course Polfilter On.
