Have an older "Studio PCTV pro" - TV card in my calculator and built the map with the original "Studio PCTV pro software, v.4.02 (09/2000) received. Later, I have a CD" P. Drivers & Support PCTV / Studio ranges, internat. v. May 2002 ", has been preserved. Ultimately, I have synonymous nor the original" P. Studio v. 7.11 (04.2002) upgrade CD ".
In a Neuistallation the BS, through me as a PC layman, there are always problems. The installation test usually works only until the penultimate test. The test with the color bars at the "Screen" is negative.
Recently I was at a general Drivers Test indicates that
Pinnacle WDM PCTV Audio Capiture and
Pinnacle Video Capiture "improved" are
Could it but so far no evidence found!
I wärw very grateful if I could get brief instructions:
1. Optimal approach to a complete removal of the entire Pinnacle Software
2. Proper installation in stages with the existing CD (software driver)
3. Any problem-solving through new acquisition a digital TV card or modern studio software (synonymous to the digitizing of VHS video).

I had not synonymous times PCTV-Pro from that time. The software is very silly and running on some system unstable or even not.
The complete removal is possible for a layman difficult. The best first deinstalieren normal, then manual all the remains from the program folder, then manual scan the registry and all entries of Pinnacle delete.
Or reinstall Windows.

From Page Pinnacle the latest update of the software pick if still available.

PCTV I had once, during a reinstall PC, through a dealer installed get good service, and runs since, even after several reinstallation, nor too small on my hard drive flawlessly. But not on the new HD.
As a layman I have no trust in the registry to change!

I understand you correctly - PCTV is available on the system disk is installed, the system can record capture, but not on the new album?
What is the new disk formatted? NTFS or Fat32?
Maybe it helps that the new disk to partition.

Both disks (system partition), but the other synonymous partitions are formatted with NTFS. Both boards have three partitions (OS, Programs, data), the newly installed allerddings with more GB per partition.
PCTV, but it was only on the OS partition (C) install. There was no choice in the installation as usual offerings!

I have to guess:
1. Is it so that you do not have both boards simultaneously, but the old record with the correct functioning of PCTV with a new one will replace larger, and on this the installation of PCTV fails?

Please excuse if I as a lay person does not understand enough to have your question answered. I was synonymous believe that two system disks on / in a normal PC can not be / should be.
Starting position:
By default, only two hard disks in my PC
1. 0 hard drive with 3 partitions
s.BS Win XP pro
b. Programs,
c. Miscellaneous
2. 1 Hard drive with 3 partitions for data.
Since the 0 hard drive was too small, I have it with a new larger replaced (replace) on the problems now. The operating system and most of the installed programs to run properly.
The reinstallation of PSTV per settled only on the OS partition on the new hard drive install. Now there are reported problems.

Because you're right, I had not suspected synonymous.
As was synonymous to me, so now the problem clear. I suspect that not blame the new album is that PCTV is not running, but incorrect or missing drivers, based on your old plate on it, on your new not.
Is it on the website of Pinnacle nor updates for PCTV-Pro? If so, I would have the latest on the existing installation. If not and you are synonymous else on the Internet or in your documents not newer installation CD will find you have bad luck. Manual track and install the files of your old to your new disk can be very expensive and you will not manage wahrescheinlich.
Your question of alternatives:
If you do not want TV, and you mainly about analog / digital converting of shooting goes, I use the Canopus ADVC100 of. The successor model is ADVC110. An external AD / DA converters. Requires no installation, auto of Windows as a video device detected, it can with any cut or capture software can be used. That part is really very good, captured in much better quality than the PCTV-Pro as a DV-AVI.

I am glad that I ultimately still somewhat understandable my problems were.
That the newly built plate s.dem debt problem could be synonymous, I have never suspected, but synonymous for missing drivers typed. Since I use the system on the old disk but already several times with no new problems had set up, I am suddenly on the problems but a bit surprised. I had synonymous immediately after the initial problems with drivers, Pinnacle sought after, but am not really found anything, because the existing 3 CDs all have a different version denomination.
Basically I need s.PC no TV, but as suspected, only for recording and digitizing of certain items. The Canopus ADVC 100 or 110 converter I do not know. Apart from the relatively high price, I understand now but not how I planned recordings without TV card, external ever find, track and stations.
The significantly better quality would of course be a big advantage!
Since apparently no simple solution to my problem can be found, do I get my posting.

Basically I need s.PC no TV, but as suspected, only for recording and digitizing of certain items. Then of course you need ne TV card. Or you include a TV receiver s.den AD converter on. Then you can but the recording is no longer so easy to program.

Since it is the installation and the use of a new larger hard drive has acted (acts), so I had to format and repartition the disk! Only then was the OS and the most important programs reinstalled!

My question relates naturally to the "Setting up new" action, when it worked, so small on your old hard drive. Have you previously formatted, or just installed over it. The latter would explain why it has worked.
