So the Sony Camera (DCR-DVD404E) is yes movies in *. vob format, so here comes the question: can the *. VOB file to AVI and then convert the film editing (cut, special effects, etc.) and then again in MPEG-2 files to convert, but would have to go or theoretical?

vob files include mpeg2 streams. Sometimes it is already where you can simply rename the file and the extension to mpg vob exchanges. But this is unfortunately not always.
