Hello,
For years I have movies, but only with about 800 euros in equipment and Vollautomatikmodus. That should change now and I tend to the XH A1.
However, I still have questions:
1. at the highest image quality - how many minutes can you film? Even 60 minutes?
2. How much would the additional cost - approx price per DV tape? Second battery?
What would be important: the price? Can I expect that the price drops a bit, because Christmas is over?
It always means that it is difficult for beginners, the device to operate. Interest s.Technik and manual settings is with me there. Is the Canon recommend or really too hard?

For 1 HDV is the same recording time with DV, 60 minutes DV 60 minutes are synonymous HDV.
On 2 I use battery replicas from China (40 Euro / piece), a Battery holds for me about 8 hours. I use DV tapes of Panasonic for about 6 Euro / piece, the cheap tapes make with my XH A1 only problems (see my blog).
For Euro 3200 there are of a lot of Canon camera, then whether the price is still significantly down next move, I doubt a real competing product currently lacks.
I have about 1 week with the camera properly addressed, my personal settings and found the same way as movies now with a FX1, only in better quality and color.
Who just wants to go and unpack, take a big bow to the camera, because there are really only trauige images result ..... s.Werk Camera is a bit creepy set.

Yes, it will probably be the Canon. Irritate me the options I bring patience and synonymous with. So if I can afford it to me, the Canon bought.

I'm still working out the list of accessories for the Canon XH A1 manner. Meanwhile, my list includes synonymous already a Wide Angleetc. :-)
Now the software question: Is there a special software for the Canon XH A1 is recommended?
With me is still 8 per Media Studio in the cupboard, but s.die software trust me because of the scale is not really ran.
Had Media Studio 8 per or would be ideal for the handling problems, because the software no longer can be renewed?

to Media Studio Pro, I can say nothing.
But:
So I'm working in my home PC s.einem with Adobe Premiere Pro 2 (times when I look at NEN CS3 or Mac with Final Cut Pro) and a BMD Intensity Pro. Runs really quite good, only when the projects are larger than 200 GB will be a bit sluggish with load and save.
Have been synonymous with the material on his Mac Pro to work with Final Cut Pro ... not with the latest FCS 2 unfortunately. Synonymous ran very smooth. Also very recommendable.
Aufm AVID Zeuch I've never been tested, is because the Avid is not necessarily my favorite is the cut.

There is of course no LP mode in HDV.
Would synonymous anything but wise. Just as when it was synonymous DV.
