I have before me a media player or storage for IDE disks zuzulegen my divx or xvid movies on the tv to be able to see.
following formats, the player:
Video MPEG1, MPEG2, MPEG4, DVD (VOB and IFO), AVI, VCD, Audio MP3, WMA, OGG Vorbis, DTS, MP2, AC3, JPG
because I often see movies in divx and such - are xvid format, I would now like to know whether they are synonymous are supported, as I have read the synonymous avi divx formats can include?

An AVI file can be a video in DIVX or XVID codec include, that's true. Can be reproduced but only if the "avi player" about a codec as a playback component.
So can it be that the DIVX movies of the player does not play them. DIVX On the homepage there is a list of official supporters hardware.
But even then: DIVX DIVX is not the same as AVI AVI is not the same. Sometimes there will be no sound or whatever (though on the computer the sound is being played), if a file according to certain rules are not converted.

mm that is when I could buy such a device really pitch and can have all these divx - xvid movies garnicht see.
